College Graduate?

Ok so I'm sitting in the library waiting for class to start. I had a counciling appointment at 1:30p which meant going home would be a pointless act. By the time i'd get there i'd have to turn around and drive back. It appears that I actually can graduate with my Associates Degree in Business Marketing and Sales. WOOHOO! The paperwork is in, and they'll send me information in April. So to kill some time I've been watching the gametrailers.com 6 part perspective on The Legend of Zelda. It ran about 40 minutes long and tried to make sense of the timeline. It also has instilled a sense to want to replay some of the Zelda games. I've been itching to finally complete The Wind Waker for a couple weeks now, the problem is I've got the Japanese Import version and I dont know if I still have the translation. I may go to gamestop or whatever used selling is the cheapest and pick it up. I know I'd have to start over from the beginning but at least I'd get the story I missed before. I had imported the Japanese version back when I was at GameStop to demo in store to help stimulate reservations. It helped a little. I also have an urge to play Ocarina of Time. I have a blue N64 floating around somewhere, I don't think I have a copy tho. Maybe time to figure out the N64 emulator for the xbox.

If you're interested here's the link for the retrospective.

Gears of War

Ok, so at the last minute I decided to reserve a copy of Gears of War. I called the nearest gamestop and they said they were not getting the game till 8pm and they only had 8 reserves left. So I fumbled thru the rest of my classes and decided to drive home. On the way there's about 7 EBGames. Yes I know EB and Gamestop are the same, i fucking worked at GS for 6 years. So i swung by just out chance. I dropped my $5 down and proceeded to interogate the chap behind the counter when it will be in. He told me between 7 and 8pm. The only problem. I have class till 10pm and they close at 9pm. Fuck! I'm thinking I could sneak outta my class, run to the store and then come back. Well come to find out we're reviewing for the midterm...No chance to leave. We dont get started till almost 7:30p! So I sit there taking notes frantically watching the clock. We finish at 8:34p! I dash out of class, into my car and make it to EB about 15 minutes before they close. I grab my copy, tricking the dumbass assistant manager that i'm a Barnes and Noble employee, haha 15% discount, and head home. It really is that fucking good of a game. This is the reason i bought a 360, well this until Halo 3. The graphics are amazing.

Here's the mid night reviews:
TeamXbox (9.6/10)
360.IGN (9.4/10)
GameSpot (9.6/10)
EGM/1Up (10/10)
Game Informer (9.5/10)
Eurogamer (8/10)
Yahoo! (4.5/5)
Games Radar (10/10)
X-Play (5/5)
GamePro (4.8/5)
GameTrailers (9.1/10)
GameBrink (97/100)
Computer & Video Games (9/10)
DailyGame (9/10)
GameSpy (5/5)

Dear god, i havent seen scores like this...EVER! And the words Grand Theft arent even in the title. Cuz we all know how much rockstar pays for their scores. Anyway, I've always made fun of Cliffy B. and his unreal map designs, but he's actually made a game i wanna play...well other than jazz jackrabbit. So yes King, buy this game. You wont be sad you did.

Pics from trip

Ok I dumped the pics from my phone and these are the few that are salvagable and worth posting.

Ok so the Japanese get the traditional PSP and the Ceramic White one. We get gay ass black. We already knew this. This is the display at the japanese Toys R Us I went to.

So not like i'm a huge ps2 fan, but the fucking have a white one of those too! I dont really care much for ps2 as a system, but god damn give the US a little break here and hook up our fanboys with Colors

The very small xbox 360 display. I bought the first 3 faceplates, the blue, orange and the pink. They rock. I however did not buy them from TRU they were way too expensive. I got each for 1000 yen at Chameleon Club. 1000 yen is like $9. So total was less than importing one. YAY I win.

Ok so this is my favorite sign i saw. It was outside the Taito Amusement Center.
I will try to decifer each of the pictures.
Reading Like a book:
1. something about 16-18 (i'm thinking ages or time)
2. something about 18-20 (i'm thinking ages or time)
3. something about school uniforms. Boys look like Jet Li in their uniforms
4. Please hold onto your purses (easy enough)
5. Parents watch your children while you play pachenko/slots
6. No Kung Fu Fighting other people. Seriously, is this a real problem?
7. No smoking
8. No being drunk
9. No Kung Fu Fighting your Arcade Machines!!
10. No exchanging your bunnies for bears.

More to come later.
